Dewy Morning
I had a few appointments on a weekday and took the entire day off and gathered all my arrows to spend the day with mom. After our commitments we decided to embrace the crisp chilled air and escape to the water. The nearest water to us is our local lake but to children it becomes a pirate cove, or thats what it was this day. Even thrift store swords lost their appeal to the larger driftwood that would be found moments later. The mist that hung in the air did not detract from play but increased the magic that was to be found on this morning. Mom needed this morning as much as they did. One can not deny the influence and power that a day in nature, letting their imagination take flight, can do to a child and their spirit. I could sense even after a few hours of cold, misty, exciting, adventurous hours that months of tension was released in this moment. Even for me, I clutched deep into my quenched creativity and released it into a series of misty images that will forever become a memory
